YNP security cameras

With all — cameras on the current gateway, continuous recording keeps about — to — days of footage, depending on recording quality. We suggest installing in phases and checking real storage use before deciding on a dedicated recorder.

Park rule: no cameras on the outside of any building and nothing aimed outward. Cameras are inside, or under covered walkways aimed along them. Locations are proposals to confirm on site.

Where the cameras go

Recording and storage

Multi-sensor cameras take much more storage. Each lens records its own video stream, so a four-lens camera fills the drive about four times as fast as a single-lens one. The four multi-sensor cameras have — of the — lenses, so they use about — of the storage.

What the current setup supports. The gateway records to one 10TB drive and has a recommended limit on how many cameras it handles at each quality. With every camera installed, continuous recording keeps about — to — days. Recording 2K or 4K on every camera is over the gateway's recommended load.

If you want longer recording, a dedicated NVR (video recorder) would hold weeks to months. We don't recommend committing to one right away. Installing in phases lets us see the real load and storage use first, then decide.

Days kept, by phase and quality

Continuous recording on the current 10TB gateway. Below each figure: share of the gateway's recommended camera load.

Try a setup

Pick the phases, the recorder and the quality for each camera. "Motion and detections only" depends on how busy each area is, so the share of the day with activity is an estimate.

To confirm before installing

  1. Whether cameras may be mounted under the covered walkways at the family house and the shipping pergola.
  2. Where "Book storage" is: Storage 003 or 004, and whether a single-lens camera is enough there.
  3. Wireless paths for the bridges to the family house, the shipping building and the Fine Print room.
  4. Power at each camera location, including the pergola legs.
  5. How long you want footage kept. That decides whether a dedicated NVR is needed later.

Prepared by Sener Akyol, Intelliriver, October 2026. Camera locations are proposals to confirm on site. Recording estimates are based on Ubiquiti's recommended camera limits and continuous-recording rates from our June storage estimate.
